Start with the handoff, timing and travelers
Travelers who know where they need to go and want private transport, luggage continuity and flexible timing without automatically adding guide service.
- Hotel, airport, station or port pickup by confirmed location.
- Vehicle selected from passenger, luggage and child-seat details.
- Half-day, full-day and custom intercity use considered.
- Driver and English-speaking guide quoted as separate service roles.
Driver service and guided touring are not the same
The driver manages the vehicle, legal stopping points and agreed transport sequence. The driver is not automatically an English-speaking guide and may not enter attractions. If the day needs interpretation, ticket help or visitor-facing coordination, request a guide as a separate component.
This distinction keeps the quote clear. Travelers who only need reliable movement should not pay for an unwanted itinerary; travelers expecting cultural explanation should not discover on the day that transport alone was booked.
Vehicle size begins with luggage
Send the number of adults and children, every large case, cabin bag, stroller, wheelchair and child-seat requirement. A vehicle that is comfortable for four people on a city day may be unsuitable for four people plus international luggage.
Central Shanghai has pedestrian streets, controlled entrances and places where vehicles cannot wait at the doorway. The confirmation should identify the practical meeting point and driver contact method rather than promising impossible curb access.
Nearby trips need a complete time boundary
Zhujiajiao, Zhouzhuang, Wuzhen, Suzhou and Hangzhou require very different road commitments. Provide the destination, desired time there and the time you must be back. Waiting, overtime, tolls, parking and driver accommodation on an overnight route should be stated in the quote.
For open-ended business or event use, list the known stops and explain which timings may move. Unlimited improvisation is not the same as a confirmed custom route.
How the request becomes a confirmed service
- Send the movement plan
Provide date, exact pickup and drop-off, passengers, luggage, child needs and fixed deadlines.
- Confirm vehicle and scope
We identify the appropriate vehicle class, planned hours, route boundary and likely extras.
- Receive the meeting details
Before service, confirm the driver contact, meeting point and what to do if transport timing changes.
Practical questions
Does the driver speak English?
Do not assume guide-level English. Request an English-speaking guide separately when communication and interpretation are central to the day.
Can the car wait while we visit attractions?
Waiting can be included within an agreed time and route, subject to parking and local access. The quote should state the boundary.
Are tolls and parking included?
Inclusions vary by route. They are confirmed in writing before booking rather than assumed from the headline service.
